"There is a crack, a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in."

- Leonard Cohen
“Your identity is not equivalent to biography. There is a place in you that has never been wounded.
It is an inner kind of sanctuary."

- John O’Donohue

Long-Lasting Impact

Certain events can have deep and long-lasting effect on us, changing the way we see ourselves, relationships, and the world around us. Traumatic events undermine our sense of safety and security, putting us in a stress response mode that may persists long after the events are over. Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a condition that occurs when trauma symptoms remain severe or worsen, leading to considerable life disruption and impaired functioning. Nightmares, intrusive thoughts, insomnia, chronic pain, and hypervigilance are all hallmarks of PTSD. Left untreated, these reactions often affect relationships, work, and social interactions.

If you have experienced painful traumatic events, you understand the deep and long-lasting impact of trauma. Finding healing and growth after trauma can be a challenging journey best traveled in a supportive company.

There is Hope

If you are struggling with posttraumatic stress or other effects of trauma, we will work together to explore ways for you to restore and build a sense of safety, security, and trust in yourself and others so you can feel empowered to fully engage in your life.

Treatment Approach

“Trauma is not what happens to us. But what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.” — Peter A Levine, PhD

Trauma often undermines our ability to feel safe and secure in the world and relationships. Therefore, I prioritize creating a safe and trusting space in which you can share your unique experiences and find healing. I think of this process as creating a safe container, in which we can hold the painful experiences and feelings together, to process them, and to let them go. We will work together to determine the right approach to your symptoms and problems. In our work together, I always value attunement, trust, transparency, and flexibility. I have extensive training and experience in several evidence-based models of psychotherapy for trauma, including:

-       Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT)
-       STAIR-NT: Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation and Narrative Therapy
-       Prolonged Exposure (PE)
-       Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
All therapy appointments are conducted virtually, using a confidential platform.
